Vladivostok and Beijing will be linked by Air China flight in the coming season
A new regular flight on the route Beijing – Vladivostok – Beijing will be opened in Vladivostok airport (JSC “VIA”) in the “Summer-2014” season. First time ever, this flight will be operated by Air China, a state-owned Chinese company.
A delegation of Air China completes its work in Vladivostok airport today, on March 28. The group includes managers of this operator’s key business units – flight department, air navigation support, ground services, information technologies, etc. The purpose of their visit was to directly familiarize themselves with the airport’s infrastructure, technical capabilities and specifics of airport operational technologies.
- The Chinese delegation highly appreciates openness and readiness for cooperation showed by the management and staff of Vladivostok International Airport. Partnership relations between our companies will expand opportunities for air passengers and have positive effects on cooperation between our countries, said Mr. Geng Jiezhi, director of Air China representative office in Vladivostok.
- Air China’s coming to Vladivostok is a positive event which takes place after more than two years of joint work between JSC “VIA” and this air company. We are happy to state today that the main organizational issues have been solved and that our airport will receive a new partner in the nearest future, said Igor Lukishin, JSC “VIA” general director.
The new carrier’s maiden flight will depart from Vladivostok at 12:35 local time on June 3. The service will be operated by a Boeing-737 four times a week: on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The new flight between Vladivostok and Beijing will increase flight frequency between these cities to 6 times per week. Two flights per week to China’s capital are currently operated by S7 Airlines.
It should be noted that Air China representatives had got their first impression from familiarization with Vladivostok airport’s infrastructure and quality of its services during the APEC summit meeting – it was by this carrier’s flight that the Chinese delegation was delivered to Vladivostok.
JSC “VIA” specialists believe that foreign air carriers are attracted to the region by active development of its tourism infrastructure, events and projects representing Vladivostok as a center for business and economic development in Asia Pacific region.
Cooperation between JSC “Vladivostok International Airport” and one of China’s leading airlines is implemented under the “Open Sky” project.
