“Vladivostok International Airport” reviewed the results for 9 months of 2014
In the first 9 months of 2014, the total passenger traffic of “Vladivostok International Airport” was 1 million 372 thousand people (-3% compared with 2013). On domestic routes the services were provided to 991 thousand passengers and to 381 thousand passengers - on international flights. During the reporting period the airport was providing services to an average of 5025 passengers per day.
According to experts of the airport, the reduction of volume indicators is due to the general decline in demand for air travels.
However, in the summer navigation season passengers paid interest to the new and renewed Asian routes. Yakutia Airline proposed a charter flight program to Matsuyama, Niigata, Narita, Shizuoka, Tottori and Yang Yang. China Southern Airlines offered scheduled flights to Yanji with the frequency of 3 times a week, as well as charter flights to Shenyang. Aurora Airlines resumed flights to Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Harbin, Mudanjiang and Uzbekistan Airways did the same to Tashkent.
On the international flights, noticeable development was made by Japan routes. In particular, the number of flights to Tokyo reached 7 flights per week. On domestic routes, thanks to the renewed Transaero flights to Vnukovo, the number of flights to Moscow rose up to 4 per day. The frequency of communication increased with Blagoveshchensk, Chita, Irkutsk and Khabarovsk. IrAero makes up to 3 flights a week to these cities.
In the upcoming season, the airport will continue to expand the route network and involve air carriers.
